  • Director of GIS/Remote Sensing Lab at the Lake Erie Research Center.
  • Have taught Physical Geography and Remote Sensing courses.

  • PI on 6 funded research projects.

1995 to 1998 - Assistant Research Scientist, Department of Geography, University of Maryland

  • Worked with Dr. Samuel N. Goward developing models to retrieve near surface environmental conditions such as surface and air temperature and water vapor from satellite observations for use in hydrologic, climatic, and biospheric modeling.
  • Worked with Dr. Ralph Dubayah on large scale hydrological modeling using remotely sensed data.
  • Oversaw undergraduate and graduate student projects.

1990 to 1995 Graduate Research Assistant with Dr. William Kuhn, University of Michigan.

  • Investigated runoff in a land-surface model, the Biosphere-Atmosphere Transfer Scheme (BATS), added a physical parameterization of runoff to BATS and tested the parameterization on a small watershed in Michigan.
  • Investigated deforestation in Michigan, directed undergraduate student's research.

1992 - Southern Oxidants Research Program on Ozone Non-Attainment.

1991 - Participated in the Coupled Climate System Modeling Workshop held at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin, 7/14 to 7/26/91.
